Who are You? What do You Want to Achieve?
“The first goal in getting somewhere is to decide you are not going to stay where you are.”
J. Pierpont Morgan, banker
Wow. Big questions, right? Who are you? What do you want to achieve? For each of us this will be as different as we are diverse.
I struggle with the changes in my life over the past 2 years, losing a great income and a successful business that I was proud of. I have to remind myself, it was the banking collapse and so many other people are in the same or worse situation. I cannot waste time with a pity party. Instead I will focus on the positive.
I learned a lot being a mortgage banker and managing my own business. I helped a lot of people buy a home or access cash for personal goals of their own. For that, I am thankful. I had the opportunity. For that, I am thankful. I had a job I loved. For that, I am thankful. I have an awesome family and awesome friends. For that, I am thankful.
I now get to explore something new and exciting. For that, I am thankful.
Dont get me wrong. I dont wake up every single morning with sunshine in my eyes. There are some days, I would rather stay in bed. But I have a family who counts on me and frankly staying in bed is not my style. Chin up. Face the day.
So I have had to ask myself, "Who am I?" "What do I want to achieve?"
Dig deep. A job doesnt make a person. Self esteem, self confidence and self worth defines a person.
I want to be the best person I can be. I want to give all I can give. I want to achieve all that I can achieve. Whatever is there for the taking, I want to be first in line to tackle it, learn from it, capture it.
